I started practicing in 2004, and currently hold the rank of 6th degree black-belt in Iaido (Japanese swordsmanship) and 3rd degree black-belt in Kyudo (Japanese archery). I am the founder and head instructor of my own school — a member of the International Kendo Federation and Affiliated with our patron in Japan.
International Awards
I am a 12 time medalist in competition within the Americas, with 5 x Gold, 4 x Silver, and 3 x Bronze over the past 10 years.
National Awards
In Canadian tournaments, I’ve earned 1 x Gold, 3 x Silver, and 2 x Bronze — most recently being defeated by my wife in the finals of the Canadian National Iaido Championships in the 4th degree black-belt category.
Provincial Awards
In regional tournaments, I’ve earned 2 x Golds and 3 x Silvers.
